You need a one-page drawing before you start talking to a bank, health department, city planning or leasing company. People want to see what you’re talking about. When you are ready for a complete set of plans, HRB can provide them for you.
YOU SHOULD REMEMBER THAT IT’S CHEAPER TO DRAW IT ON PAPER THAN TRY TO MAKE IT WORK AFTER YOU BUILD IT.

SEATING: HOW MANY DO WANT TO SERVE. 50 OR MORE THE BUILDING MUST HAVE 2 EXIT DOORS.
BAR: MIX DRINKS / JUST BEER AND WINE. MIXED DRINKS THE LCB HAS RULES ABOUT RESTROOMS AND OTHER ITEMS.
DRIVE-THRU: DRIVE-THRU CAN BE 20% MORE SALES
SERVING: BUFFET, FAST FOOD COUNTER, WAITERS, SELF SERVE, SERVERS.
PAY; POS FRONT DOOR, WAITER STATION, OR WAITER.
SERVING FOOD: PAPER, OR GLASS. IF YOU HAVE GLASS PLATES YOU WILL NEED HEATER.
Don’t sign a lease until the last minute. Most leases give you 3 months to open before you start paying rent., But it could take 3 months or more before you can start building.
If the building has been used before be sure to get some warranty on plumbing, electrical and a/c. Once you lease the building.
This is just some information that you will need to know, there are many items that can cost you thousands of dollars if you don’t handle them right.
